FUSO moves up to the 3rd spot

Manila, Philippines — According to the recent July sales figures of the Truck Manufacturers’ Association (TMA), Sojitz Fuso Philippines Corporation (SFP), the general distributor of FUSO and one of the primary commercial vehicle distributors of brand-new trucks and buses in the Philippines hailed as Rank 3 in terms of truck and bus sales performance.

This marks the second time for FUSO to improve its sales ranking to 3rd in the TMA tally; the first was last March. In addition, FUSO showed a remarkable improvement from January to July 2022 sales performance as it expanded by 26.2% compared to the previous year, while the industry growth showed 1% — this resulted in the improvement of FUSO’s market share to 11.4%.

Another breakthrough is the segment under the Light-Duty Truck covering 4.1T to 4.5T or Category 3 under TMA segmentation; FUSO was able to penetrate 22% market share in July, which allowed the brand to climb up to the 2nd spot. Thanks to the consistent sales contribution of FUSO Canter FE71 (4W) and Canter FE73 (6W) for making this achievement possible.

SFP President and CEO, Mr. Yosuke Nishi said, “FUSO’s 3rd spot in the overall industry is a proof that the brand has established a relationship with our customers. It is a testimony that FUSO is committed to our promise of delivering high-quality and reliable products and services to our customers’ business needs. Aside from this, we thank our dealer partners and front liners for their efforts and dedication to living the brand’s core values.”

“This milestone indicates that we are committed to our core values to provide the best sales and service support to all our customers,” He added.

FUSO has been in the business of providing reliable, durable, and efficient commercial vehicle products. With FUSO’s global brand tagline, “Future Together,” – SFP will continue to accelerate efforts to strengthen its growing business across the country further.

For the remaining months of this year, SFP is confident of achieving more sales milestones to expand market presence in the industry. Through the company’s strategic plans and continuous dealer expansion, SFP is still on track to provide FUSO products to customers that radiate high-quality, sustainability, and best value for money.

Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines, July 25, 2022 — The Japanese distributor of the popular Canter inaugurated its new 3S (Sales, Service, and Spare Parts) outlet in Cagayan de Oro City (CDO) last Monday, 25 July 2022. FUSO Cagayan de Oro will now address the customers’ requirements by providing sales and service support to further strengthen the FUSO’s presence in Mindanao. The new outlet is a great addition to the existing network of FUSO dedicated dealerships operating under Fast Autoworld Philippines Corporation (FAPC) — an authorized dealer of Sojitz Fuso Philippines Corporation (SFP).

Strategically positioned in Purok 8-A, San Pedro, Gusa, Cagayan de Oro City, 9000 Misamis Oriental this makes it very accessible to commercial, logistics, and automotive areas in the city center. FAPC has been representing FUSO in the Visayas and Mindanao with 35 years of experience.

Besides being known as a spot for relaxing activities, Cagayan de Oro is also tagged as the City of Golden Friendship because of the utmost hospitality and smiles of the people of CDO, or what we called Kagay-anons who offer a warm welcome to tourists. It is no wonder the city has become a destination for foreign visitors.

Cagayan de Oro City is experiencing rapid economic development in Mindanao. Surrounded by commerce, trade, information technology, and automotive businesses, CDO is a growth driver of Mindanao as the city continues to grow.

“FUSO as one of the leading brands in the trucks and bus industry, will be relentless in giving customers products that radiate durability, reliability, and sustainability and offer the best value for money. The commercial vehicle market is indeed evolving, but given the persistent efforts, we are optimistic that FAPC and SFP will remain as a force to be reckoned within the years to come.” Mr. John Michael Ignacio, Manager – Vehicle Sales, SFP, explained while referring to FUSO’s commitment to provide high-quality products and services.

FUSO stands out at the 2022 Manila Commercial Vehicle Show

Pasay City, Philippines, July 9, 2022 — For this year’s Manila Commercial Vehicle Show, Sojitz Fuso Philippines Corporation (SFP), the general distributor of FUSO and one of the Philippines’ primary commercial vehicle distributors of brand-new trucks and buses, exhibited Class 2 and Class 3 Modern PUVs together with the Canter FE71 with Aluminum Van Body at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City last July 7 – 9, 2022.

To meet the growing demand and expand its market in Metro Manila, the FUSO light-duty trucks and modern PUVs promise world-class performance, reliability, durability, and maximum business returns, suited for logistics, supply chains, and transport cooperatives.

“As Senator, I have called on the Department of Transportation (DOTr) to expand the contracting service program, to help public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers and operators secure their jobs as well as guarantee that fares in public transport will remain affordable,” says Hon. Risa Hontiveros, Senator, Republic of the Philippines.

As the government continues to strengthen the program of PUV modernization, many transport cooperatives still have concerns that they would like to discuss with specific authorities, making the Manila Commercial Vehicle Show an excellent platform to thresh out concerns regarding the transition of traditional jeepneys to modern vehicles.

The 3-day show consists of different co-located events from each day. National Truckers Assembly commenced on Day 1, discussing the trucks offered by the brands, specifications, and market performance. SFP presented the F-Wing, a 32 ft. Wing Van Body mounted on the robust FJ 2528R chassis.

Day 2 focused on PUVMP-Jeep Forum and Bus Operators Assembly; SFP showcased the brand’s modern PUVs Canter Commute (Class 2) and Canter Express (Class 3) displayed in the FUSO booth.

The organizer (833 Marketing) also invited the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) Metro Pacific Tollways to promote safe driving and vehicle preventive maintenance as well as organize fun activities that instill safety among participants.

FUSO has a wide presence across the Philippines to assist transport cooperatives with their modern PUV requirements. SFP encouraged transport cooperatives nationwide to switch to safer, reliable, and more convenient modernized PUVs.

FUSO Philippines joins Commercial Vehicle Show in the Culinary Capital of the Philippines

Clark, Pampanga, March 31, 2022 — As we continue the drive for PUV Modernization, Sojitz Fuso Philippines Corporation (SFP), the general distributor of FUSO and one of the Philippines’ primary commercial vehicle distributors of brand-new trucks and buses participated once again at the Clark Commercial Vehicle Show held last March 31 to April 1, 2022, at Fontana Leisure Parks & Casino, Clark, Pampanga with the theme, “Transport Cooperatives Transformation towards the New Normal”.

Considered as the Philippines’ Culinary Capital, Pampanga offers more than just a great introduction to Filipino food. Just a couple of hours away from Manila, Pampanga is also classified as a first-class and highly urbanized city surrounded with industries from automotive and agricultural businesses to forestry. SFP believes that the introduction of the FUSO modern PUVs to the city will help transport cooperatives in showcasing the efficient, safe, and accessible modern transportation system.

“This is a very timely event, given all the issues that our public transport system is facing at the moment – from the shift to the PUV Modernization Program, the continuation of the challenges of this pandemic, and skyrocketing price of fuel all over, I am very hopeful that this congress will help us all figure out what our next steps should be moving forward in order to best support the public transport sector through these issues. To that end, we have filed the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program Act and the Transportation Cooperatives Development Loan Fund Act to enable our transport cooperatives to effectively modernize.” says Sen. Juan Miguel Zubiri.

This program of the national government is a comprehensive system reform that can entirely change the Public Land Transportation system. As the country works toward economic recovery, the Clark Commercial Vehicle Show is a good venue to discuss the issues and concerns of transport cooperatives that support the shift to PUV modernization.

Part of the event program is a presentation of the brand’s modern PUV. SFP showcased the powerful performance, reliability, and durability of both FUSO Canter Commute (Class II) and FUSO Canter Express (Class III).

Sojitz Fuso Philippines Corporation Assistant Manager for Product Planning, Ms. Nolyn Mae de Guzman presented the FUSO Class II and Class III Modern PUVs from specifications, interior and exterior body, accessories and vehicle certification.

Moving forward, SFP is committed to tie-up with more transport cooperatives in support of the Philippines’ PUVMP. SFP believes that FUSO products can meet the goal of a more sustainable public transportation system for the country.

Addressing transport cooperatives concerns, Zubiri further discussed PUV modernization efforts to finally commence the program.

SFP together with its dealer, Mindanao Integrated Commercial Enterprises, Inc. (MICEI) exhibited the FUSO Canter Express showcasing the proven quality, durability, and strong performance of the brand’s modern PUV.

Through the event, the GenSan Commercial Vehicle Show addressed the transport cooperatives concerns and queries about the government’s PUV modernization program. By identifying the concerns or issues, the transport groups were able to collect information and fully understand the modernization program towards the new normal.

SFP remains committed as general distributor of FUSO trucks and bus in the country and is accelerating efforts aimed to further strengthen its growing business across nationwide. FUSO Philippines showcased the brand’s latest modern PUV to the Queen City of the South

Cebu City, July 30, 2021 – Despite the occurring pandemic, the Cebu Commercial Vehicle Show in partnership with the National Federation of Transport Cooperative successfully held the 1st Transport Cooperative Visayas Congress last July 30, Friday at the Waterfront Hotel, Cebu City, Philippines. The event’s objective is to discuss the implementation of the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP).

PUVMP envisions a restructured, modern, well-managed, and environmentally sustainable transport sector where drivers and operators have stable, sufficient, and dignified livelihoods while commuters get to their destinations quickly, safely, and comfortably.

Considering the objective of the event, Sojitz Fuso Philippines Corporation (SFP) believes that this is a good venue to present the truck line-up, most especially the Public Utility Vehicles (PUV) models purposely built for transportation.

Hailed as the “Queen City of the South”, Cebu City has great possibilities in terms of economic, business, and infrastructure. As transportation is known to be an important sector both private and public, the transport congress is timely especially in the Visayas region.

Together in one venue, transport cooperatives have welcomed representatives from different transportation sectors, government leaders, and automotive companies including the Guests of Honor, Spokesperson of the Office of the President – Hon. Harry Roque, Senators of the Senate of the Philippines – Hon. Miguel Zubiri and Hon. Sherwin Gatchalian, NFTC National Director – Mr. Vicente Artillero, NFTC National Chairman – Mr. Armando Delos Reyes, Cebu City Mayor – Hon. Edgardo Labella, and Cebu Province Governor – Hon. Gwendolyn Garcia.

Hon. Zubiri, discussed the sector’s modernization efforts and challenges amidst the global pandemic. “The transport sector is facing a real paradigm change, in terms of PUV modernization,” he stated. “I made sure that our transport cooperatives were included in the loan and subsidy programs provided by the DOTr in the wake of the pandemic” he added mentioning further support for the sector through this transition.

Sojitz Fuso Philippines Corporation was among the commercial vehicle brands that participated in the event rolling out their version of modern PUV showcasing the reliability and strong performance of FUSO Canter Express (Class III) in the Queen City of the South. As SFP exhibits the brand’s 25-Seater Modern PUV, it also guaranteed driver and passenger comfort, equipped with a front dashcam, rear camera, and cabin CCTV cameras for safety and driver-friendly for the Cebuano’s.

The FUSO Canter Commute (Class II) on the other hand, has side-facing seats (like traditional jeepneys) that can accommodate 20 passengers and 10 more standing. Designed and crafted to provide the transportation needs of the public, ensuring safety and convenience.

For a more comprehensive and detailed discourse regarding the implementation of the PUV Modernization Program, part of the congress is an open forum to discuss the issues and concerns on Transport Cooperative Operations. Joining the forum – Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), and Office of Transportation Cooperatives (OTC) as panel resources to answer all their queries. It is also to understand the transformation of modern transportation as the Filipino’s drive towards the “new normal”.

Amidst the occurring quarantine classification on both Metro Manila and nearby provinces, Sojitz Fuso Philippines Corporation, together with its dealers, will remain committed to providing campaigns, programs, and necessary services that are all in line with the SFP mission to contribute to the drive for development and betterment of living in the Philippines.
