Canter Express exhibited at Commercial Vehicle Show in the Tuna Capital of the Philippines

General Santos City, October 29, 2021 – Sojitz Fuso Philippines Corporation (SFP), the general distributor of FUSO trucks and bus in the Philippines successfully showcased the brand’s modern PUV, the Canter Express, in the General Santos Commercial Vehicle Show in partnership with the National Federation of Transport Cooperative. The event was held at the Venue 88, Hotel and Events Place, General Santos City (GenSan) from October 29 to 30, 2021.

While GenSan is known for its big fish port and Tuna processing facilities, it has continually become more attractive now—with the presence of major economic infrastructure support facilities comparable to international benchmarks. Several business dealers are also operating vigorously showcasing their brands across the busy streets of the city, making it a good venue to present the FUSO modern PUVs.

This is the second time the Canter PUVs were presented in a Commercial Vehicle Show. Like the previous Cebu CVS last July 2021, the event’s objective is to discuss the implementation of Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP) across the country.

Senator Miguel Zubiri outlined the legislative plans for the transport cooperative emphasizing modernization loan applications. “Alam ko pong may sarili tayong challenges sa ating transport sector, at handa po akong tumulong maghanap ng solusyon para maayos nating maisagawa and PUV modernization dito.” Zubiri stated. Addressing transport cooperatives concerns, Zubiri further discussed PUV modernization efforts to finally commence the program.

SFP together with its dealer, Mindanao Integrated Commercial Enterprises, Inc. (MICEI) exhibited the FUSO Canter Express showcasing the proven quality, durability, and strong performance of the brand’s modern PUV.

Through the event, the GenSan Commercial Vehicle Show addressed the transport cooperatives concerns and queries about the government’s PUV modernization program. By identifying the concerns or issues, the transport groups were able to collect information and fully understand the modernization program towards the new normal.

SFP remains committed as general distributor of FUSO trucks and bus in the country and is accelerating efforts aimed to further strengthen its growing business across nationwide. The exhibit of the FUSO modern PUVs is a further statement of the brand’s commitment to technological innovations and high customer satisfaction.

FUSO Philippines strengthens Sales and Aftersales tie-up with Shopee Xpress

Paranaque City, Philippines — Focusing on providing extensive logistics support for fast delivery time and safe shipment of products nationwide, Sojitz Fuso Philippines Corporation (SFP), the general distributor of FUSO trucks and bus in the Philippines continues to strengthen Sales and Aftersales support to one of the leading e-commerce platforms in Southeast Asia, Shopee Philippines. Last July 2021, SFP turned over ten (10) FUSO FJ 2528R Wing Van trucks to SPX Philippines, Inc. (Shopee Xpress), the company’s standard delivery service.

Launched in 2015, Shopee aims to provide customers with an easy, secure, and fast online shopping experience through strong payment and fulfillment support. With more people relying on ordering, delivering, and tracking items due to pandemic, SFP considers this partnership is a great choice for improving operational efficiency.

The FJ 2528R, a 25-tonner, 10-wheeler is the first heavy duty truck in the Philippines to have a natural 32-feet loading span. The truck’s size and its toughness make it ideal for distribution of products across the country. Powered by a fuel-efficient 6S20 diesel engine, FJ can deliver an output of 281 HP and 1120 N-m of torque. The 6S20 engine is mated to a 9-speed manual transmission with double synchronizer designed for quicker and smoother operation, better acceleration, and fuel economy. The FJ is also equipped with dual circuit full-air brakes for a more reliable braking performance.

The Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) provide additional safety and utmost care to deliver goods and cargoes. The FJs then are expected to travel and deliver the products from Shopee sellers nationwide.

Another pillar of this partnership is the Aftersales services. Last August 7 and September 6, SFP conducted a wide range of training programs such as Basic Truck Information, Periodic Maintenance Service, Safety Driving Measures, and Efficient Driving to Shopee’s drivers and operations team. This ensures proper handling of the FJ 2528R.

Shopee appreciates SFP’s assistance in training our drivers and operations team – “We hope that these programs will help our drivers manage the trucks better and our daily operations run more smoothly.” says SPX Philippines, Inc. (Shopee Xpress) Logistics Head, Mr. Jessie Baylon.

(From Left to Right – Sojitz Fuso Philippines Corporation (SFP) Senior Business Development Officer, Mr. Ray Leonardo, SFP Executive Vice President for Sales & Marketing Division, Mr. Noriyuki Sekita, SFP President & CEO, Mr. Yoshihisa Hosaka, SPX Philippines, Inc. Partnerships Cluster Lead, Ms. Mara Villareal, Alpine Motors Corporation (AMC) President & CEO, Mr. Francis Martin Gonzales, SFP Head of Vehicle Sales Mr. Dan Jalbuna, and AMC Sales Consultant, Mr. Ruben Ronquillo)

Shopee is known for offering seamless and reliable services to million of users nationwide. SFP is proud to handover a brand-new FUSO fleet of reliable and durable trucks to support Shopee and its subsidiaries in delivering their services across the Philippines.

SFP has a wide network strategically located outlets and service centers across the Philippines, which offers high-quality trucks and buses and reliable service that cater to all business needs and customer requirements.

FUSO Philippines showcased the brand’s latest modern PUV to the Queen City of the South

Cebu City, July 30, 2021 – Despite the occurring pandemic, the Cebu Commercial Vehicle Show in partnership with the National Federation of Transport Cooperative successfully held the 1st Transport Cooperative Visayas Congress last July 30, Friday at the Waterfront Hotel, Cebu City, Philippines. The event’s objective is to discuss the implementation of the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP).

PUVMP envisions a restructured, modern, well-managed, and environmentally sustainable transport sector where drivers and operators have stable, sufficient, and dignified livelihoods while commuters get to their destinations quickly, safely, and comfortably.

Considering the objective of the event, Sojitz Fuso Philippines Corporation (SFP) believes that this is a good venue to present the truck line-up, most especially the Public Utility Vehicles (PUV) models purposely built for transportation.

Hailed as the “Queen City of the South”, Cebu City has great possibilities in terms of economic, business, and infrastructure. As transportation is known to be an important sector both private and public, the transport congress is timely especially in the Visayas region.

Together in one venue, transport cooperatives have welcomed representatives from different transportation sectors, government leaders, and automotive companies including the Guests of Honor, Spokesperson of the Office of the President – Hon. Harry Roque, Senators of the Senate of the Philippines – Hon. Miguel Zubiri and Hon. Sherwin Gatchalian, NFTC National Director – Mr. Vicente Artillero, NFTC National Chairman – Mr. Armando Delos Reyes, Cebu City Mayor – Hon. Edgardo Labella, and Cebu Province Governor – Hon. Gwendolyn Garcia.

Hon. Zubiri, discussed the sector’s modernization efforts and challenges amidst the global pandemic. “The transport sector is facing a real paradigm change, in terms of PUV modernization,” he stated. “I made sure that our transport cooperatives were included in the loan and subsidy programs provided by the DOTr in the wake of the pandemic” he added mentioning further support for the sector through this transition.

Sojitz Fuso Philippines Corporation was among the commercial vehicle brands that participated in the event rolling out their version of modern PUV showcasing the reliability and strong performance of FUSO Canter Express (Class III) in the Queen City of the South. As SFP exhibits the brand’s 25-Seater Modern PUV, it also guaranteed driver and passenger comfort, equipped with a front dashcam, rear camera, and cabin CCTV cameras for safety and driver-friendly for the Cebuano’s.

The FUSO Canter Commute (Class II) on the other hand, has side-facing seats (like traditional jeepneys) that can accommodate 20 passengers and 10 more standing. Designed and crafted to provide the transportation needs of the public, ensuring safety and convenience.

For a more comprehensive and detailed discourse regarding the implementation of the PUV Modernization Program, part of the congress is an open forum to discuss the issues and concerns on Transport Cooperative Operations. Joining the forum – Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), and Office of Transportation Cooperatives (OTC) as panel resources to answer all their queries. It is also to understand the transformation of modern transportation as the Filipino’s drive towards the “new normal”.

Amidst the occurring quarantine classification on both Metro Manila and nearby provinces, Sojitz Fuso Philippines Corporation, together with its dealers, will remain committed to providing campaigns, programs, and necessary services that are all in line with the SFP mission to contribute to the drive for development and betterment of living in the Philippines.
