The all-new Automated-Manual Transmission Canter arrives in the Philippine market       

Manila, Philippines – Sojitz Fuso Philippines Corporation (SFP), the general distributor of FUSO, and one of the primary commercial vehicle distributors of brand-new trucks, buses and modern PUVs in the Philippines, has launched the automated-manual transmission (AMT) line of the FUSO Canter FE71 today, July 11, 2023 at the Filinvest Tent, Alabang, Muntinlupa City.

Canter has been in the service for 60 years since it was launched way back in 1963 and has been an essential vehicle for many businesses – transporting products or people from one place to another.

ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY
SFP has introduced some changes in terms of both safety and technology. The all-new Canter FE71 is engineered with a 4P10-KAT2 3.0L 4-inline Direct Injection Diesel Engine and complies with Euro 5 emission standards. Apart from the AMT line, the all-new Canter FE71 will now have a natural 11-footer option. Accordingly, with these newly available options, this dependable light-duty truck will now come in 4 variants such as 10ft. Manual Transmission (MT), 10ft. AMT, 11ft. MT, and 11ft. AMT.

SAFE AND COMFORTABLE
The upgraded Canter FE71 comes with advanced safety features as a standard for better vehicle control. The existing front and rear disc brake comes with a modern Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) that provides another level of safety and assurance.

This is also the first time SFP is introducing the DUONIC® automated-manual transmission for the FUSO Canter light-duty truck, in the Philippines. The all-new Canter FE71 is equipped with a six-speed dual-clutch transmission that is designed for smoother performance, better acceleration, and fuel efficiency for a more comfortable driving experience.

TRADEMARK EXTERIOR DESIGN
On the exterior, the all-new Canter FE71 still features a modern cab design featuring the V-line concept, angular headlamp shape, and horizontal character line in the front fascia emphasizing the clean look and creating a sense of forwarding motion. It still shows off its Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution or R.I.S.E Body that guarantees stronger and safer cab-over-engine (COE) concepts.

The all-new Canter FE71 also maintains an easy-to-tilt cab with a wide tilt angle, allowing unrestricted vehicle maintenance access to the engine bay.

ACCESSIBLE INTERIOR
In the interior, the all-new Canter FE71 incorporates a new meter cluster with a multi-information display that presents average and instant fuel consumption data. The tilt and telescopic adjustable steering wheel and dash-mounted gear shift ensure smooth operation and makes it easier for the driver to find a more comfortable driving position.

FUEL EFFICIENT
The all-new Canter FE71 AMT achieved an impressive fuel consumption figure of 11.6km per liter over nearly 356 kilometers while simulating the actual road environment with a mixture of different actual driving conditions, regulated road speed limits, and light to-no traffic system.

Carrying a weight equivalent to 50% of its payload capacity (or 1,000 kg cargo), the all-new Canter FE71 demonstrated actual delivery situation, as well as achieving reliable results. It was observed and certified by Automobile Association Philippines (AAP) last June 28, 2023.

The four biggest commercial vehicle brands collaborated to create a future of mobility

Tokyo, Japan / Leinfelden, Germany – In a recent joint press conference, Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC), Daimler Truck Holding AG (Daimler Truck), Hino Motors Ltd. (Hino), and Toyota Motor Corporation (Toyota) concluded a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that aims to accelerate the progress and development of advanced technologies and merging of MFTBC and Hino.

All four brands collaborated to achieve carbon neutrality and create a prosperous mobility, focus on developing CASE technologies (Connected / Autonomous & Automated / Shared / Electric) and globally strengthening commercial vehicle business further.

  • MFTBC and Hino will collaborate in commercial vehicle development, procurement, and production, while Daimler Truck and Toyota will also collaborate on the development of hydrogen and other CASE technologies to support the competitiveness of the new company.

The brands plan to sign a definitive agreement in the first quarter of 2024 and aim to close the transaction by the end of the same year. Details of the scope and nature of the collaboration, including the name, location, shareholding ratio, and corporate structure of the new holding company, will be decided within the next 18 months.

FUSO Philippines officially opens new dealership in Carmona, Cavite

Carmona, Cavite, March 30, 2023 – Sojitz Fuso Philippines Corporation (SFP) inaugurated its newest dedicated dealership in Carmona, Cavite under Alpine Motors Corporation (AMC). FUSO Philippines kicks off its 2nd wave of Fuel Eco-Run Challenge

Bagac, Bataan – Following the 1st wave of Fuel Eco-Run Challenge last September 2022 – Sojitz Fuso Philippines Corporation (SFP) once again proven its fuel-efficiency marking of three (3) FUSO trucks including Canter FE73, Canter FE85-S, and FJ 2528R.

The 2nd wave of the Fuel Eco-Run Challenge commenced last February 17, 2023, at the same route in San Fernando, Pampanga to Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar, Bagac, Bataan covering 158.3 kilometers that covered a mixture of traffic, uphill and downhill areas, city roads, and suburban driving conditions.

From Carworld, Inc. – FUSO Pampanga, the trucks traveled carrying weight equivalent to 8000 kgs for the FJ 2528R, 2,700 kgs for the Canter FE85-S, and 1,000 kgs for the Canter FE73 to demonstrate delivery and trucking scenarios, as well as achieve reliable results.

The results indicated below are observed and certified by the Automobile Association Philippines (AAP).

FUSO Philippines turns over Canter units to Gamboa Group of Companies

Pasig City, Philippines – Sojitz Fuso Philippines Corporation (SFP), together with its dedicated dealership in Cainta, Peak Motors Philippines, Inc. (PMPI), turned over a total of seven (7) Canter units to Gamboa Group of Companies (GGC).

SFP executives and partners from Daimler Regional Center along with the officers from PMPI met the team of GGC to express their gratitude for the trust and confidence in purchasing FUSO products.

Canter Express Modern PUV (Class 3) achieves 8.8km per liter in FUSO Fuel Eco-Run Challenge

Bataan, Philippines — The Canter Express Modern PUV (Class 3) achieved an impressive fuel consumption figure of 8.8km per liter over nearly 152.7 kilometers (which customers may save up to Php 6.3 per kilometer compared to traditional PUVs [Jeepney] with 5.2km/l average fuel consumption) while simulating the actual PUV operating environment such as passenger load and road conditions during the FUSO Fuel Eco-Run Challenge. Based on the survey among modern PUV drivers, 6 to 7km per liter is their benchmark for fuel efficiency.

The FUSO Modern PUV was driven from San Fernando, Pampanga to Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar, Bataan, and all the way back within a single day. It was observed and certified by Automobile Association Philippines (AAP) and covered by its media partner, Autoindustriya.

FUSO opens new dedicated dealership at the “Gateway to the East”

Cainta, Rizal, Philippines — In association with Peak Motors Philippines Inc. (PMPI), Sojitz Fuso Philippines Corporation (SFP), the general distributor of FUSO, and one of the Philippines’ primary commercial vehicle distributors of brand-new trucks, buses and modern PUVs, has opened a new dealership in Cainta, Rizal today, November 14. PMPI – FUSO Cainta will be the newest outlet in the Rizal province.

Cainta is the secondary gateway to the rest of Rizal province from Metro Manila. Additionally, the number of businesses in Cainta are growing, with many more local commercial establishments in development, turning land into an industrialized city. With the new FUSO outlet in Cainta, this will enhance SFP’s ability to provide high-quality sales and service to customers in the region and nearby districts. This new outlet will also widen and strengthen the FUSO network in the country, to be nearer and closer to customers.

The outlet also provides sales and aftersales services, with FUSO certified professionals stationed to attend to various customers’ needs.
